General description of Project
One of the most serious problems of Upper Silesia and Zaglebie Dabrowskie society is the condition of environment which keeps getting worse. This area has been heavily industrialized for many years. The pressure on environment has a strong effect from both, the companies which realize their economic objectives without paying attention to the natural resources, and the public sector, which has been increasing suddenly because of demand on labour force.

Sosnowiec, reckoned among Poland's biggest towns, is situated in the south part of Poland. It administratively belongs to the Silesian Province. It directly borders on the capital of the Province - Katowice. The city located at the crossing of important communication routes, from south to north ( international road: Scandinavia - Gdansk - Warsaw - Katowice - Ostrawa ) and west to east ( Nordberg, Dresden - Wrocław - Katowice - Krakow - Lvov - Kiev). Katowice - Pyrzowice ( 20 km. away) and Krakow - Balice (40 km. away) are the nearest international airports.

Realization of the project Waste water treatment in Sosnowiec by the City of Sosnowiec supported by the assistance of the EU, guarantees the assumed targets to be achieved, i.e. meeting the EU requirements for quality parameters of water and wastewater treatment that shall provide for improvement of ecological conditions of life of inhabitants in our region and its proper position in Europe.

Implementation of the task titled Wastewater treatment in Sosnowiec by the commune of Sosnowiec, supported by the European Unions funds guarantees the assumed targets to be achieved, i.e. meeting the union requirements for quality parameters of water and wastewater treatment that shall provide for improvement of ecological conditions of life of inhabitants in our region and its proper position in Europe.

The "Radocha II" plant is localized in the southern part of Sosnowiec at the border with Mysłowice. The "Bobrek" collector shall be carried on from the wastewater treatment plant to the southern direction, along the Czarna Przemsza river, which separates Sosnowiec from Katowice and Mysłowice.

The general objective of contract is assurance the applicable work of Project Implementation Unit, through coordination all urban units involved in management, inspection, monitoring and supervision above the development of works with 1 executive contract and 1 service contract, to accustom them in accordance with Cohesion Fund problem in Sosnowiec and through the help and training in PIU staff into their separate duties.

After the Bobrek collector was planned in 1997, the dialog with inhabitants of the area of the investment started. On the basis of their suggestions and requests together with the designers’ and specialists’ opinions the course of the Bobrek collector was changed.
